SUP 101

Urban Kai’s SUP 101 class is an introductory group lesson to stand up paddle boarding. It includes a 10 minute land lesson to go over basic skills, an overview of the paddleboard, paddle, & PFD (personal flotation device). After that, the group heads to the water to put these skills into action! Our Gandy location provides ideal conditions to learn how to paddle board. This class can be repeated, followed by our SUP 102 class, or even a private lesson. Our goal is to get you comfortable and confident out on the water! We launch from our Gandy shop- the decked-out school bus next to The Getaway. 

Please arrive 15 minutes early in order to check-in and get ready to paddle! Remember to always bring your water bottle!

• Board rental: $45

• Rental includes board, paddle, life jacket (PFD), and leash 

• BYOB (bring your own board): $25

• Please note all boards must be fully assembled by owner and approved by staff prior to departure time

Requirements:

* 2 or more paddlers are required for this event. We reserve the right to reschedule or cancel if the limit is not reached.

* Must register online in advance

* Minimum age is 12 years old and must be able to swim. If younger, please call 813-598-1634 to set up a private lesson. If you are bringing your own board, it must be approved by Urban Kai staff prior to the lesson.
